The EYFS
For all children aged between 9 months to 5 years we follow the EYFS guidelines when setting up provision and assessing the children’s learning and developmental progress.
These guidelines are used to ensure that children are getting the best out of the learning opportunities that we provide in a safe and enriching environment.

The playwork principles
The principles are based on the recognition that children and young people’s capacity for positive development will be enhanced if given access to the broadest range of environments and play opportunities. Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
Katie Hatfield is the setting Designated Safeguarding Lead, she has an enhanced safeguarding awareness after completing courses set out by City of York Council. Safeguarding policies and procedures are in place within the setting to ensure the safety and well being of all children. We have a multiagency approach to safeguarding children with York, liaising with the MASH team and the City of York Safeguarding Children Partnership.
Sonia Cadenhead is the Deputy Safeguarding Lead for the setting.
SENCO
Katie Hatfield is SENDCO for the setting. She liaises with parents/carers, attends regular meetings and updates essential information and care plans for children with additional needs. Katie supports children holistically whilst attending the setting and when transitioning from/to another childcare providers/school.
Inclusion
Danielle Jackson is our inclusion coordinator who monitors continuous provision and the well-being of the children to make our setting a welcoming and accessible place for all children.
Setting policies
All policies and procedures that are adhered to within the setting can be found on site and any parents/visitors are welcome to view them at any time. All staff follow policies and procedures at all times and are made aware of them during induction and at regular staff meetings. All policies are reviewed annually.
